Scope of activity:
- Carry out conservation and classical cultivation of fibre and oilseed flax and hemp.
- Test the resistance of flax lines and cultivars to fusarium wilt in infection-challenge trials
- Conduct experimental work in the area of seed production and plant protection.
- Conduct comparative cultivar trials with flax and hemp.
- Conduct cultivation and experimental work in a greenhouse and plant house.
- Conduct work on the reproduction of fibre and oilseed flax and hemp.
- Carry out plant cultivation as part of the department’s commercial activity.
- Conduct experimental work related to the cultivation of mulberry and other plants.
- Carry out commercial activities.
Experimental Department in Pętkowo uses no-till farming, which is an agricultural technique involving no tillage, i.e. deep agitation of the soil before sowing. In this approach, plant residues from the previous season remain at the soil surface, forming a natural barrier that protects the soil against erosion and moisture loss.
